Get Involved

There are numerous ways for you to get involved in the Home & School Association and we welcome all parents/guardians who share our goal of providing our students with the best possible kindergarten experience. Membership in the HSA is free and open to all parents and guardians of children currently enrolled in the Kindergarten Center. We recognize that people have busy schedules and have opportunities for volunteering that cater to a variety of family schedules and of course welcome the skills and talents of all our Cubs family.

This year, all four positions on the executive board are up for re-election:

President—Oversee general activity of the HSA; works closely with the Principal and staff to coordinate events and volunteer needs; chairs monthly meetings; delegate duties and assign positions for committees; works closely with Treasurer to ensure budgetary soundness

Vice President—Assists president in general oversight; Chairs the Healthy Kids Day fundraiser; works as intermediary between committees and executive board; handles t-shirt distribution and ordering and other needs as indicated by the President; Oversees Directory Ad Sales and Signups for the PAKC.

Treasurer—maintains the annual budget; handles all financial requests, reimbursements, and payments; oversight of major fundraising campaigns; manages bank and PayPal accounts

Secretary—Records and distributes minutes at all monthly meetings; Maintains social media accounts; responsible for updates and revisions to website; responsible for updates to by-laws; maintains communications to HSA membership.

Other roles:

Committee chairs: There are several major committees for various events throughout the year. Chairs will manage the volunteers and duties for those events and report back to the President with regular updates and information. Committees include Earn back programs, Scholastic Book Fair, Curious Cubs Library, Cozy Cubs Reading Night, Restaurant Nights, Conference Dinners, Healthy Kids for Education Day, Teddy Bear Picnic, Bake-off, and Cubs Family Picnic.

General volunteering: Parent/guardians can volunteer in a variety of ways from assisting with events during the school day, organizing night time events, and donating time and skills in preparation for events.
